mV/V bridge
Use an external conditioner when excitation, cable length and remote calibration are part of your existing system.
CLEVIS / WINCH / MARINE / LIFTING
Custom load pin sensors built around the steel pin you already use. Bring force measurement into clevis joints, winch sheaves and marine rigging with a drawing-led replacement.
FROM ORDINARY PIN
TO MEASURING POINT
A load pin load cell — also called a load measuring pin, load sensing pin or shear pin load cell — uses internal strain gauges inside a cylindrical load-bearing pin. Match the geometry, maintain the sensing orientation, and route the signal to your controls.
Start with five dimensions ↗FIVE LOAD PATHS. ONE PIN SPECIALIST.
Clevis, sheave, stay, articulating joint or shackle: each load path needs its own contact, retention and calibration review.
Hydraulic cylinder eyes · agricultural equipment · automation clevis joints
Mooring winches · crane sheaves · cable-laying equipment · mining hoists
Yacht rig tuning · forestay and backstay tension · marine towing measurements
Articulating heavy joints · variable-angle sheaves · subsea machinery
Suspended-load monitoring · rigging test equipment · stage truss monitoring
RETROFIT BY DESIGN
Our starting point is a replacement that fits the existing bore and lug stack. We check where the load enters, how the pin stays aligned and what the surrounding structure permits.
THE FIT IS ONLY HALF THE STORY
A pin that physically fits still needs the right gauge orientation, loading span and calibration fixture. For lifting and marine duty, define peak loads and environmental conditions early.
CONNECT THE MEASUREMENT
Use an external conditioner when excitation, cable length and remote calibration are part of your existing system.
Request internal amplification, RS485 or CANbus; protocol and power requirements are reviewed for the pin envelope.
Specify above-water radio placement, battery service access, update rate and the actual instrument you need to connect.
BEFORE THE DRAWING REVIEW
A custom measuring pin can be designed around the existing bore and load path. Keeper mounting, cable clearance, contact widths and load orientation still need review. Zero structural modification is a design objective, confirmed against your assembly.
Yes, request a single prototype. We confirm material, geometry, test scope, any engineering or tooling charges and unit price in a written quotation.
It starts the engineering review. Fits, full overall length, asymmetrical lugs, contact details, load direction, retention and electrical requirements must be confirmed on the approval drawing.
Include your required delivery date and destination. A two-hour drawing response, 10–12-day dispatch and no-tooling-fee options are commercial targets requiring configuration and capacity confirmation; they are not universal lead-time guarantees.
Specify depth, time, pressure cycling, connector state and seawater exposure. A configuration-specific immersion qualification is needed. Wireless transmission is assessed separately.
THE FIVE-DIMENSION BRIEF
Measure D / L / A / B / C or attach a sketch. We review the joint, load cases and interfaces before releasing a drawing or quotation.
L describes the loaded span here. Include the overall end-to-end length, asymmetric lugs, spacers and retention details in your drawing or notes. Five values start the review; they do not fully define a production pin.
